Harrow Discs Wholesale Guide: Which 12–36 Inch Discos de Rastra to Stock
Buying harrow discs wholesale is different from replacing a few blades on one farm. A dealer or importer must decide which sizes to stock, which steel to offer and how to ship mixed sizes without wasting money on freight. This guide is written for parts dealers in Latin America and other export markets who sell discos de rastra to farmers and contractors.

What Dealers Should Know Before Buying Harrow Discs Wholesale
Discs are the main wearing part of every disc harrow, disc plough and ridger. Farmers replace them every season or two, so a well-chosen stock of blades brings repeat orders long after the machine is sold. Our harrow discs range covers:
- Diameters from 12 to 36 inches (about 305–915 mm).
- Thickness from 3 to 12 mm.
- 65Mn spring steel or 30MnB5 boron steel, heat-treated to HRC 38–44.
- Plain or notched edge, square or round centre hole, and production to drawing.
If you need the full size chart with every weight, read our harrow disc blade sizes guide. This article focuses on how to build a stock list and order efficiently.
Which Sizes to Stock: A Starter List by Machine
The best-selling sizes follow the harrows already working in your market. As a general guide from our factory data:
| Machine type | Tractor power | Typical disc | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light mounted harrow | 12–55 hp | 16″–20″, 3–4 mm | Plain or notched |
| Medium mounted harrow | 25–80 hp | 20″–24″, 4–5 mm | Notched front, plain rear |
| Heavy offset harrow | 80–140 hp | 26″ (660 mm), 6–8 mm | Mostly notched front gang |
| Folding and extra-large harrow | 105–300 hp | 26″–36″, 6–12 mm | Notched and plain |
| Disc plough | 18–120 hp | 24″–30″ | Plain, deeper concavity |
In regions with large soybean, corn and sugarcane farms, heavy harrows are common, so the 26″ × 6 mm and 26″ × 8 mm notched blade (the classic disco de rastra recortado for heavy harrows) is usually the core item. Add 22″–24″ blades for medium harrows and a smaller range for light harrows and ridgers.

Steel Grade: 65Mn or 30MnB5 Boron Steel?
65Mn is a proven, economical spring steel. It suits light and medium harrows and general farm work, and it is the right choice for price-sensitive customers.
30MnB5 boron steel hardens more deeply and evenly, so the blade keeps its strength through the full thickness. It resists wear and impact better in sandy, abrasive or stony soil and on heavy harrows working long hours. Many dealers offer both grades: 65Mn as the standard line and boron steel as the premium line.
Weights, Packing and Freight Planning
Blade weight decides how many pieces fit within your container weight limit. Some examples from our weight table (plain / notched, per blade):
| Size | Plain (kg) | Notched (kg) |
|---|---|---|
| 20″ (510 mm) × 4 mm | 6.87 | 6.47 |
| 22″ (560 mm) × 5 mm | 10.15 | 9.65 |
| 24″ (610 mm) × 6 mm | 14.67 | 14.02 |
| 26″ (660 mm) × 6 mm | 17.6 | 16.9 |
| 26″ (660 mm) × 8 mm | 23.4 | 22.6 |
| 28″ (710 mm) × 8 mm | 27.73 | 26.83 |
For example, 100 notched 26″ × 6 mm blades weigh about 1,690 kg. Blades are oiled or painted against rust, stacked and wrapped, then packed on pallets or in wooden cases. You can mix many sizes in one order and add complete harrows or ploughs to the same shipment. See our export and shipping page for sea, rail and air options.

Quality Checks Before Shipment
- Hardness: we check hardness on every batch against the HRC 38–44 range.
- Centre hole: confirm square or round, and the size across the flats.
- Concavity: important for plough blades and special machines; send the dish depth.
- Edge: notches should be clean and even so the blade runs smoothly.
- Marking: SH marking or your own OEM brand can be applied.
We also supply matching bearing assemblies, grease or oil-bath lubricated, so you can sell a complete gang repair kit.
Common Mistakes When Importing Disc Blades
- Ordering by diameter only and forgetting thickness or centre hole size.
- Measuring a worn blade from the middle of the gang instead of an unworn end blade.
- Stocking only one steel grade when customers work very different soils.
- Forgetting bearings and spools, which wear at the same time as the discs.
