A walking tractor trailer has a single axle with two wheels and a long drawbar that connects to the hitch of a walking tractor. When the trailer is hooked up, the tractor’s handlebars become the steering, and the driver sits on the seat at the front of the trailer instead of walking behind. This is why the combination is so popular for road transport between fields, villages and markets.

Unloading is by manual back tipping: release the catch, and the body tilts backwards so the load slides out over the rear. A foot brake gives the driver control on slopes and when stopping with a full load. The design is simple, with few parts that can fail far from a workshop.

How to Choose a Walking Tractor Trailer for Your Tractor and Loads

Start with your heaviest regular load. Think about a full load of harvested maize, rice bags, potatoes or bricks, then add a margin. Never exceed the rated load.

• 7SH-0.5 (500 kg): the compact choice for small plots, gardens, narrow paths and smaller engines. Its 4.00-12 tyres keep it light and easy to handle.
• 7SH-1 (1000 kg): the all-round size most small farms start with. Larger 6.00-16 tyres roll better on rough tracks.
• 7SH-1.5 (1500 kg): the longest, deepest body for bulky crops, feed and contract hauling, with 6.50-16 tyres.

Safe Loading Tips for a Two Wheel Tractor Trailer

• Balance the load: keep the centre of gravity low, with slightly more weight in front of the axle so the drawbar carries some load.
• Secure the cargo: use straps or nets for bags, crates and tools.
• Before every trip: check tyre pressure, wheel nuts and the foot brake.
• On slopes: drive slowly in a low gear and brake early. Do not tip the body on a side slope.
• On public roads: make sure the trailer meets local rules for lights and reflectors, and tell us your requirements when you order.

Maintenance and Spare Parts
